Sandra Vincent Richard is the current President of the PFLAG Greater Providence, Rhode Island. She also provides administrative support to Shifting Visions Films Education Project, Inc., a non-profit documentary film company, as an Associate Producer. She is a retired municipal Director of Human Resources and Labor Relations from Hanover Park, Illinois.
During her career, Sandra served on several boards and committees. Most notably, she was president of the Illinois Public Employer Labor Relations Association (IPELRA). In 2003 she was appointed to the Supervisory Committee for Du Page Credit Union in Illinois and served as its Chairperson until she was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2008, a position she held until her retirement and relocation to Rhode Island in November 2009. She previously served as a volunteer in various capacities for Trailways Girl Scout Council in Joliet, Illinois, including two years on the Trailways Girl Scout Council’s Board of Directors from March of 1998 to March of 2000.
Sandra earned her undergraduate degree in Organizational Behavior from Northwestern University, Chicago, in 1987 and her M.S.I.R. degree from Loyola University of Chicago’s Institute of Human Resources and Industrial Relations in 1992.
She and her husband of 42 years, Ronald Richard, have two daughters, one of whom is transgender. Their older daughter Sara and her husband Ryan Wilcox have two young daughters and reside in Ayer, Massachusetts. Their younger daughter Annabelle Richard Backman and her wife Lara Backman live in Seattle, Washington.
