2020 PFLAG Inclusion Microgrants Program:
In 2020, with the generous support of the Walmart Foundation and Bank of America, PFLAG National is offering microgrants to support the work of chapters eager to create, build, and grow relationships with organizations serving marginalized and underserved communities. 15 Microgrants of $500 will be available in the 2020 funding cycle.
The 2020 PFLAG Inclusion Microgrants program aims to help PFLAG chapters in good standing to connect with other organizations by providing funds to attend, participate in, and sponsor community-specific Pride celebrations, events, and conferences.
At the conclusion of the grantee’s event, chapters will be required to provide a short, one-page report of the outcomes and lessons learned from the engagement.
Here are a few examples of the kinds of events that can be funded with a PFLAG Inclusion Microgrant:
- Community-specific Pride events (e.g., Black Pride, Latinx Pride, Queer & Trans API Pride Picnic, Diné Pride, Rural Pride)
- Conferences and events supporting marginalized groups in the LGBTQ+ community (e.g., NQAPIA Leadership Summit, Two Spirit Pow Wow, Affinity QTPOC Leadership Program)
- Community-specific conferences and events that support communities of color (e.g., African American Health Fair, POC Youth Leadership Summit)
The application process for these grants closed on March 31, 2020.
