It’s almost Election Day, when we go to the polls and make our voices heard. And no one would argue this is a crucial year, with candidates at every level of government up for election, as well as local and state-level ballot measures in many states across the country ready to be read, weighed, and voted on.

No matter how you vote, it is critical to do so, and as always, PFLAGers play an important role in getting out the vote. So many of you have gotten involved in the process: you’ve helped get people registered to vote, your chapters have hosted debate-watching parties and candidate forums, and of course, you’ll be working up until--and through--the day to make sure people can get to the polls.

As always, PFLAG National has resources at the ready for you! Earlier this year, we released our updated edition of Make It Count, the PFLAG National “Get Out the Vote” pocket guide. In it, you’ll find many ways to get involved and stay involved in this important process, and to help you more effectively advocate at election time for your LGBTQ loved ones.

Important reminder: No matter what action you take, remember that PFLAG is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization; therefore, all election activities must remain non-partisan. Make It Count has an important section on 501(c)(3) dos and don'ts. Please take a careful look to ensure your activities are in compliance with the law, as failure to comply will jeopardize our tax-exempt status.

So now’s the time: we have one more week to get our friends and loved ones out there to make it count...let’s VOTE!
