PFLAG Napa recently completed a project that is touching hearts, minds, and lives....reaching all the way to Orlando.
The Orlando Pulse Memorial Quilt is dedicated to the 49 people whose lives were taken, much too soon, in the Pulse Nightclub tragedy. PFLAG Napa leaders say, "The creation of this beautiful quilt would not have been possible without love and support of the members of PFLAG Napa and LGBTQ Connection as well as those who generously funded this project."
PFLAG Napa will display the quilt at their September 27th meeting. It will then be sent to PFLAG Orlando in time to be displayed at the October 8th Pride Parade.
This project is an exquisite yet painful reminder of how deeply so many were affected by the events of June 12th. As shared in the most recent issue of the PFLAGPole, PFLAG chapters across the country held events and vigils throughout the month of June in honor and support. It is both moving and meaningful that PFLAG Napa created this quilt in time for Pride...and that it takes place in October, LGBTQ history month, is only fitting.
Thank you to the kind, caring, and loving members of PFLAG Napa, LGBTQ connection, and the many who worked on and funded the Orlando Pulse Memorial Quilt. Your work will touch so many lives.
