This is the final letter we'll be sharing this week as part of our work with The Rainbow Letters, an initiative to generate healing and empathy around the topic of LGBTQ family through the art of letter-writing. Originally designed to increase visibility for children and adults with LGBTQ parents, The Rainbow Letters is now expanding its audience and calling for letters written by anyone who is or has family members who are LGBTQ. We enjoyed sharing these beautiful letters with you!

Dear Past Self

Hello I am from the future, I need to tell you a few things. First lesbian and gay marriage will become legal in the whole states of the United States of America. Second, I know we will encounter meanie people but it will be okay. We can push through it and give 'em what we got. Also me and my family will always be strong and support lesbian and gay and bisexual and transgender people. Lastly, be careful and thoughtful who you are friends with. You will have a friend named ------- who is nice and a great friend but be warned ------- will hurt you, well good luck.
