Questions for Discussion:

  1. Have you ever made purchasing decisions specifically because of a Pride-themed ad campaign? If so, when? If not, what type of LGBTQ inclusive advertising do you think could lead you to change your shopping habits?
  2. Do you ever use social media, your online presence, or other forms of communication to celebrate inclusive brands or to call out tone-deaf brands? Why or why not?
  3. This article specifically mentions companies who announced they would no longer support the NCAA championship games in North Carolina, after the passage of HB2 in 2016, as an example of taking meaningful action. Can you think of other examples of companies or brands that have taken action to demonstrate their support for the LGBTQ community in recent years?
