Questions for Discussion:

  1. Does the information outlined in this article surprise you? Why or why not? If so, what experiences have led you to your previously held beliefs?
  2. The article notes that some people prefer working with members of the LGBTQ community, and that the numbers “tend to reflect people wanting to work with people who identify in the same way they do.” Do you agree with the author’s assessment? If so, what problems may that pose? If not, where do you think those preferences come from?
  3. When it comes to diversity and inclusion efforts in the workplace and in communities, what can be learned from this article? How could the findings be used to inform new programs and projects that your organization is working on right now?
