Difficult Conversations: Tackling the Hot Topics without Getting Heated!
Build the Future
Workshop Block 1 – Saturday, October 26 – 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Mary Lou Williams AB
Take the fear out of difficult conversations by setting the stage for success! When we identify and suspend our own biases, we can have more productive exchanges with others who hold different beliefs. Furthermore, there are some simple skills that are necessary for courageous conversations about “hot topics” to have impact. Having the passion without the skillset can often ruin the opportunity for a teachable moment. Learn how to have an intentional dialogue and “live to fight another day” with a resistant person or audience. Small disturbances like a meaningful conversation can change large and complicated systems! Your voice can change the world!
