Social media is a fantastic tool for connecting with PFLAG members and others who need PFLAG's support in your community. However, understanding how to create space for a respectful exchange of ideas on your Facebook page, Twitter feed, or Instagram can be tough.
Whether you are brand new to social media for your chapter or a seasoned moderator, this session will:
- Help you better understand Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram including the target audience and types of content that work best for each platform
- Provide tips and tools for finding engaging and creative content, from reliable sources, to better connect with followers and community members
- Teach some of the skills you’ll need to be a moderate moderator using PFLAG’s model of meeting people where they are to engage in meaningful conversation rather than dead end debates
- Examine social media case studies from the PFLAG chapter network to better understand how this all plays out IRL (in real life)
