In the initial wake of the shooting, memorials were held across the country to honor the victims and collectively mourn the loss of the LGBTQ community’s “fallen brothers and sisters,” as Barbara Sheppard, president of PFLAG-Taos and one of the organizers of the march, told The Taos News.
PFLAG is the first and largest organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people, their parents and families, and allies.
