PFLAG is dedicated to providing support to trans and non-binary folks and their families, educating the community about the issues that trans and non-binary people face, and advocating for fully inclusive policies at the local, state, and federal level.
In this session you’ll:
- Review the terminology that people often use to describe gender identity and gender expression, pronouns 101, and why it is so important for allies to use language confidently
- Discuss a variety of materials and resources – from PFLAG National and our organizational partners – that will help build your chapter’s capacity
- Consider the pros and cons of various support group models being used by PFLAG chapters across the country to provide support trans and nonbinary folks and their families
- Reinforce your personal responsibility as an ally to the trans and non-binary community and learn more about better practices around supporting and engaging new allies
We will also reserve plenty of time for Q&A so bring your questions!
