Support

PFLAG Connects: Over 100 chapters now meeting online...

We're proud to report that nearly 120 PFLAG chapters across the country are now holding virtual meetings and events via PFLAG Connects, our new program that ensures that PFLAG can still meet you with support, so you can meet your LGBTQ+ family and friends with love. PFLAG Connects meetings are bringing the PFLAG Chapter Network--400+ chapters in all 50 states--online, providing digital meetings and events to their local communities and to your family and LGBTQ+ loved ones. The program also includes digital resources (like this newsletter), digital tools and resources (like our publications and PFLAG Academy Online), live broadcasts live Something to Talk About Live and our Mother's Day special, and more! We are grateful to the David Bohnett Foundation for their generous support for this program.

Education

Three Steps to Being...A Better Voice Against Conversion Therapy (While You're Stuck At Home)

Just because you’re staying in doesn’t mean doesn’t mean your ally skills should slow down! . So, stay safe and take these steps to engage:

  1. Learn: Check out PFLAG’s policy statement in opposition of so-called reparative or conversion therapy available at pflag.org/policystatements to start learning more about how such efforts are demonstrably harmful to people who identify as LGBTQ+.
  2. Watch: PFLAG recently began a three-part series on the history of conversion therapy in the US, what parents and caregivers can to do protect youth from such harmful practices, and the impact these therapies can have on families.
  3. Share: Use social media to spread the word about The Trevor Project’s 50 State 50 Bills campaign and how you hope statewide equality groups and local PFLAG chapters will get involved during the 2021 legislative session.

Advocacy

Tell us why you oppose conversion therapy

As you take three steps to get educated about so-called conversion therapy, and why it is so dangerous and damaging to our LGBTQ+ loved ones, you can take action by sharing your thoughts with us about why you are working to help end the practice across the country. As PFLAG National works to advocate with lawmakers, we might reach out to you to be part of the process by raising your PFLAG voice - so tell us now: Why do YOU oppose conversion therapy?
