Since 2000, the PFLAG National Scholarship Program has been supporting the next generation of LGBTQ and ally leaders working tirelessly on a variety of programs, projects, and activities to make schools and communities safe and welcoming for all. In 2015 alone, PFLAG National awarded more than $75,000 in scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000.

By funding a PFLAG National scholarship, sponsors are supporting young LGBTQ and ally students and letting them know their leadership and accomplishments are important. They are helping send a critical message to students who often do not consider advanced education because of their negative high school experiences. At PFLAG, we are working through our Cultivating Respect: Safe Schools for All program to change these statistics, and increased scholarship funding is a key component.
