Trans 101: Tools to Uplevel Your Advocacy and Allyship
Track: Build the Future
Workshop Block 1 – Saturday, October 26 – 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Room: Jay McShann A
Participants will receive a working understanding of how biology, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation are related and together help comprise our sexuality. Many people have heard words that are used in describing gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation, but many describe this workshop as putting all the concepts together in a way that helps you to use the language more confidently in advocacy and allyship. Participants will be able to confidently respond to common objections about the trans community with informed (lay and legal) responses regarding the trans community, such as bathrooms and locker rooms in school and work settings, in their everyday lives as well as in their advocacy.
