Well facilitated, in-person, peer support group meetings are central to PFLAG’s work nationwide. In March 2020 – for the first time in nearly 50 years – PFLAG chapters in communities across the country made the decision to stop meeting in person and go virtual, through the PFLAG Connects system. Join us for this updated learning session that will help PFLAG leaders, support group facilitators, and members ensure that virtual support groups aren't just running smoothly, but being led in ways that truly serve participants.

In this session you’ll:

  • Review PFLAG support group guidelines, consider various ways to adapt best practices for a virtual format, and security and privacy concerns unique to meeting online;
  • Interact with the PFLAG chapter engagement team and chapter leaders from all over the country to learn from their experiences with PFLAG Connects;
  • Examine core skills of great PFLAG facilitators with tips and tools for how to adapt those skills for virtual meetings; and
  • Get access to resources from PFLAG National to help your virtual support groups go from good to great.
