#ReadWithLove to Fight Book Bans Recording and Training Toolkit
Banned Books Week began in 1982 in response to a surge in challenges to books in bookstores, public libraries, and schools. Forty years later, the number of books being challenged and banned has skyrocketed, impacting communities throughout the US. This session will outline PFLAG’s response to the coordinated attempts to censor LGBTQ+ lives, the strategic partnerships that have been developed to stop book bans, and the #ReadWithLove campaign.
