Patty Reeves

She/Her

Patty Reeves started her advocacy journey as a parent looking for resources for her transgender son. Originally from Arlington, Texas, Patty and her family moved to Midland, Texas in August of 2020.  There, she found the resources she and her family needed at PFLAG Midland/Odessa and Pride Center West Texas.  Not only did the Reeves family find much needed support, education, and love, they became passionate about strengthening the West Texas LGBTQ+ community and bring those resources to others.

Patty is currently serving her third year as President of PFLAG Midland/Odessa, and has served as the board Secretary of Pride Center West Texas for two years. She and her husband facilitate a thriving Parents of Gender Diverse Children (POG-DC) group specifically serving affirming families as they navigate their child’s journeys. She has also served four years as a committee leads chair for Basin Pride, the area’s Pride Festival organization, and as a mentor, confidant, and friend to the four Midland/Odessa LGBTQ+ organizations over the last four years.

When Patty reflects on how her family’s world has expanded with the amazing chosen family that surrounds them, she is grateful and passionate to give that back to others. She is honored to be involved in serving other PFLAG chapters across the region and will do so with servant leadership.
