Have Faith! Straight for Equality in Faith Communities Recording & Training Toolkit
Addressing issues at the intersection of faith and LGBTQ equality remains one of the biggest challenges and most important topics that PFLAG members and chapters across the country encounter in their work. As we continue to hear a public narrative that treats LGBTQ people and their allies and people of faith as mutually exclusive groups, PFLAGers recognize that this is not true and continue their work to ensure that equality moves forward in faith communities for people who are LGBT, their families, friends, and allies.
Thanks for participating in PFLAG Academy Online! One of our key goals is to help you take the information that you learned in this session and use it to make your chapter stronger and more effective. To do that, we’ve created this page to provide you with tools, resources, and references to materials mentioned in the workshop. As always, the PFLAG National staff is here to help. If you have any questions, comments, or just need some good advice, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
About Straight for Equality in Faith Communities
In a world where people look for definitive answers, finding resolution between what our religion teaches us and our support (and even love) for people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) often leaves people frustrated, hurt, and unwilling to even talk about the topic. The intersection of religion and LGBTQ+ issues is once again making headlines. Many are left wondering if they have to choose between being a person of faith or an ally to people who are LGBTQ+. Straight for Equality in Faith Communities was designed for this very challenge. Learn more at straightforequality.org/topic/faith.
