Charmaine Hussain

She/Her

Charmaine Hussain (she/her) is a proud mom blessed with a wise, queer and non-binary child who has become her greatest teacher and mentor. Together, they have spent nearly a decade championing the rights of LGBTQIA+ youth–working on local and national programs to ensure millions of LGBTQIA+ children feel safe at school and loved at home. Charmaine has also conducted numerous family acceptance panels, hosted city-wide education events, partnered with entities like GLAAD, ACLU & HRC…and even taken her advocacy all the way to the White House and The United Nations.

In her desire to create a more equitable and inclusive world, Charmaine has previously served on the non-profit boards of The Empathy Alliance, Leaderspring Center, and Desi Rainbow Parents & Allies.

Charmaine immigrated from Pakistan, where a childhood spent under an oppressive military dictatorship taught her never to take freedom for granted. Her quest to become a more informed and effective leader brought her to America where she received her B.A. from Stanford University & MBA from Kellogg School of Management. She continued honing her skills in increasingly challenging corporate leadership roles at Franklin Templeton, Bain & Company, Coca Cola, & Clorox. Charmaine has won numerous awards and received industry recognition. Her work has been showcased on major Television Networks. While some of Charmaine’s product innovations have saved millions of lives and become hospital staples, others can be found at retailers like Walmart, Costco & Safeway–as well as in 80% of U.S. consumer homes.

These days Charmaine focuses exclusively on LGBTQIA+ advocacy, and is excited to serve on the national board of PFLAG.
