New “Creating Pride in Families” Resource for Working Parents and Caregivers Launches

March 18, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C.—PFLAG National is proud to announce the launch of its “Creating Pride in Families” online library, offering a dedicated resource hub for parents and caregivers involved in employee resource groups in their workplaces.

“Being a working parent or caregiver of an LGBTQ+ child can be both profoundly rewarding and very challenging, especially right now. To help employers meet the needs of parents in the workplace, the ‘Creating Pride in Families’ library offers guidance, connections to community, and tools for employee resource groups. said Jamie Henkel (she/her), Vice President of Learning & Inclusion at PFLAG National. “When workplaces and ERGs partner with PFLAG, we amplify that support, helping families feel seen, valued, and empowered every day.”

With more than 50 years of experience supporting parents, families, and non-family allies of LGBTQ+ people, PFLAG National has pulled together best practices, resources, and tools to help companies launch, maintain, and revitalize internal peer-support groups for employees. The “Creating Pride in Families” library provides families with practical guidance to answering common questions, navigating difficult conversations, and leading with bold love and understanding for the LGBTQ+ people in their care.

A brief webinar event was held at 1pm EST/10am PST with the PFLAG National Learning & Inclusion team to celebrate the resource’s launch, hear remarks about the creation of the library, as well as allow some time for questions from attendees. Click here to watch.

The launch underscores PFLAG National’s ongoing commitment to empowering families and creating safer, more inclusive communities and workplaces for LGBTQ+ people of all ages. Families, employers, and employee groups are encouraged to explore the library.
