CEO Brian K. Bond Touts GLMA’s Alex Sheldon Among the TIME100 Next

WASHINGTON–Today, TIME released its list of “The World’s Most Influential Rising Stars” and Alex Sheldon, Executive Director of GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ+ Equality is on the list.PFLAG National CEO Brian Bond was proud to write this piece to highlight the latest member of the TIME100 Next.
“Alex is the kind of leader who, in the face of unimaginable vitriol, brings the facts. They rise to the occasion time and again, leading GLMA to support providers dedicated to improving health for LGBTQ+ people, from challenging grant terminations that gutted their research to being our co-plaintiff in PFLAG v. Trump to fight the Executive Order banning trans health care for youth,” wrote Bond in the piece
PFLAG National, families with transgender youth, transgender young adults, and GLMA are fighting President Trump’s executive order to shut down access to necessary medical care for transgender youth and young adults in a federal legal challenge. We are represented by American Civil Liberties Union, Lambda Legal, the ACLU of Maryland, and law firms Hogan Lovells and Jenner & Block, which filed a lawsuit in the federal District Court of the District of Maryland. The court issued a temporary restraining order on February 13, 2025, and then issued a preliminary injunction on March 4, 2025.
