Advocacy 101

Advocacy is a big part of the mission of PFLAG, with members and supporters working to achieve LGBTQ equality through changing hearts, minds, and laws. We work at the community level, at the city and state level, and at the federal level to effect change so that people who are LGBTQ are safe and equal in their communities. One Voice Can Change the World: The PFLAG National Policy Guide and Advocacy Toolkit teaches about advocacy methods, ways to lobby, and PFLAG’s legislative priorities. This publication will also help you feel confident as you meet with your legislators, go to town halls, plan chapter events, advocate through social media, and more. After your legislative visits, be sure to fill out our reporting form - we want to hear from you.
