Despite shared goals, community groups and organizations often experience conflicts that must be resolved. As PFLAG members it is important to know the skills to help mediate conflicts, formally and informally, when they occur within your PFLAG chapter or between community partners.
In this workshop you’ll:
- Understand what conflict is and how it can impact the work being done in your chapter
- Learn more about the typical underlying causes of conflict that can affect volunteer-led, community-based, grassroots organizations
- Examine the best ways to approach and resolve interpersonal and organizational level conflicts using examples that arise in the PFLAG chapter network
- Discuss best practices that can prevent interpersonal and organizational level conflicts from happening
