Amber Ruffin to Host PFLAG’s 50th Anniversary Gala

February 6, 2023

NEW YORK (February 6, 2023) — On Friday, March 3 PFLAG will celebrate 50 years of leading with love at a spectacular gala to be held at New York’s Marriott Marquis Hotel. This hot-ticket event for the iconic LGBTQ+ community organization will be hosted by comedian and actress Amber Ruffin, and feature special appearances and live performances from actress Rose Abdoo (HACKS), singer-songwriter Robin S. (whose 1993 disco hit, “Show Me Love,” is sampled on Beyoncé’s Grammy-winning record “Break My Soul”), breakout musician Evann McIntosh, and many more to be announced in the coming days.

“I’m so excited to host PFLAG’s 50th anniversary gala! Can’t wait to thank this beautiful organization for its hard work,” said host Amber Ruffin.

“PFLAG is where so many of us who are LGBTQ+ have guided our parents for help when we came out, or it’s where some of us have found chosen family. Bringing families together is just one reason the gala host committee is proud to celebrate PFLAG’s 50 years of leading with love,” said Chef Melissa King

Serving on PFLAG’s 50th Anniversary Gala Honorary Host Committee along with Chef Melissa King are celebrated LGBTQ+ people and allies: Andrew Rannells, Audra McDonald, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Justin Mikita, Kristin Chenoweth, Martha Plimpton, Matt Doyle, Nate Berkus, Patrick Stewart, Sunny Ozell, Will Swenson, and Wilson Cruz.

“I believe everyone should be afforded opportunity and happiness. PFLAG’s commitment to LGBTQ+ people, parents, families, and allies over the past 50 years is something that truly deserves celebrating. I am proud to have a small part in uplifting PFLAG’s vision of a more equitable and inclusive world,” said Robin S.

For fifty years, PFLAG has been where LGBTQ+ people, parents, families, and allies have come together in pursuit of justice and affirmation. PFLAG’s 50th Anniversary Gala celebrates the strength of this unity, in service of their mission of creating a caring, just, and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them.
