The Safe Schools Improvement Act

The Safe Schools Improvement Act will instruct school districts to implement a comprehensive anti-bullying policy that includes sexual orientation and gender identity. It will also require states to include bullying and harassment data in the surveys conducted statewide to distinguish unmet needs in their schools.

This bill was introduced in the House on 7/9/21 by Rep. Linda Sanchez (CA-38) and in the Senate  on 07/21/21 by Senator Bob Casey (D-PA).

Action Request | Ask your Member of Congress and Senators to:

  • Support the Safe Schools Improvement Act, especially if they serve on the House Education and Labor Committee or on the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee.
  • Cosponsor the bill.
    • Thank them if they are already a co-sponsor.
